VeriGoldTM NeoPT
The VeriGoldTM NeoPT Rapid Test is an in-vitro immunochromatographic assay for the quantitative detection of neopterin concentrations in human EDTA plasma. Neopterin is an immune activation marker that may increase during acute viral infections and other conditions associated with cellular immune response. The assay provides rapid quantitative results to support clinical evaluation in laboratory and point-of-care settings.
This test is intended to aid in the rapid differential assessment of acute viral infections; however, it does not distinguish between different viral pathogens. The NeoPT Rapid Test is not intended for blood donor screening or for use in organ transplantation-related virus testing applications. Negative results do not exclude viral infection and should not be used as the sole basis for diagnosis, treatment, or patient management decisions.

| Mechanism | The assay is based on a competitive chromatographic immunoassay principle, in which neopterin present in the EDTA plasma sample competes with labeled neopterin analogs for binding to specific antibodies during lateral flow migration along the membrane. The resulting antibody–analyte interaction produces a signal at the test region that is inversely proportional to the neopterin concentration in the specimen. |
