VeriGoldTM CEA
The VeriGoldTM Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) Rapid Test is an immunoassay designed for the quantitative detection of CEA levels in human serum or plasma samples. CEA is a tumor-associated glycoprotein commonly elevated in certain malignancies, particularly colorectal cancer, as well as in some benign conditions. The test provides timely results at the point of care, supporting clinical decision-making without the need for centralized laboratory infrastructure.
This assay is primarily used for monitoring disease progression, evaluating treatment response, and detecting recurrence. Its ease of use, minimal sample preparation, and short turnaround time make it suitable for outpatient settings, emergency care, and resource-limited environments. Results should be interpreted alongside clinical findings and other diagnostic methods.

| Notes on Handling | Specimens should be collected and handled using standard laboratory procedures. Use fresh samples when possible and avoid hemolyzed, lipemic, or contaminated specimens. |
| Detection Method | Immunochromatography |
| Antibody Format | Monoclonal / sandwich |
| Signal Generation | Colloidal gold |
| Reading Method | Instrument-based |
| Mechanism | The assay is based on a sandwich immunochromatographic reaction, where CEA present in the sample binds to specific anti-CEA antibodies conjugated to a detection label and migrates along the membrane by capillary action. The formed antigen–antibody complexes are captured by immobilized antibodies in the test region, producing a measurable signal proportional to the CEA concentration. |
