VeriLumenTM Total T3
The VeriLumenTM Total T3 Rapid Test is a fluorescence immunochromatographic assay for the quantitative measurement of total triiodothyronine (Total T3) in human whole blood, plasma, or serum samples. Total T3 is a thyroid hormone involved in regulating metabolism, growth, and energy balance, and its concentration is commonly used in the clinical assessment of thyroid function. The assay provides rapid quantitative results to support timely clinical evaluation in laboratory and point-of-care settings.
This test is mainly used in the clinical evaluation of thyroid function, supporting assessment of patients with suspected hypo- or hyperthyroidism. Quantitative Total T3 measurement supports clinical decision-making when interpreted together with clinical findings and other thyroid function tests, helping to evaluate hormonal imbalance and treatment response.

| Signal Generation | Fluorescence signal (fluorescent-labeled immunochromatography) |
| Reading Method | Instrument-based |
| Mechanism | The assay is based on a fluorescence immunochromatographic competitive principle, in which total triiodothyronine (Total T3) present in the sample competes with immobilized T3 analogs at the test region for binding to specific fluorescently labeled anti-T3 antibodies during capillary migration along the membrane. As the Total T3 concentration in the sample increases, fewer labeled antibodies bind at the test region, resulting in a fluorescence signal that is inversely proportional to the Total T3 concentration in the specimen. |
