VeriLumenTM 降钙素原
The VeriLumenTM Procalcitonin (PCT) Rapid Test is an in vitro fluorescence immunochromatography assay for the quantitative detection of procalcitonin (PCT) in human whole blood, plasma, or serum. Procalcitonin is a biomarker associated with systemic bacterial infection, inflammatory response, and sepsis, and its concentration may increase significantly during bacterial infections while remaining comparatively low in most viral infections. The assay provides rapid quantitative results to support timely clinical evaluation in laboratory and point-of-care settings.
This test is intended to aid in the differentiation between bacterial and viral infections, supporting clinical assessment and patient management decisions. Quantitative PCT measurement is used to assist healthcare professionals in evaluating infection severity and monitoring response to treatment when interpreted together with clinical findings and other laboratory data.

| Notes on Handling | Specimens should be collected and handled using standard laboratory procedures. Use fresh samples when possible and avoid hemolyzed, lipemic, or contaminated specimens. |
| Detection Method | Quantitative fluorescence immunochromatography |
| Antibody Format | Monoclonal / sandwich |
| Signal Generation | Fluorescence signal (fluorescent-labeled immunochromatography) |
| Reading Method | Instrument-based |
| Mechanism | The assay is based on a fluorescence immunochromatographic sandwich principle, in which procalcitonin (PCT) present in the sample binds to specific fluorescently labeled antibodies during migration along the membrane by capillary action. The resulting antigen–antibody complexes are captured by immobilized antibodies at the test line, and the fluorescence signal intensity is measured and correlated with the PCT concentration in the specimen. |
