VeriLumenTM FT3

The VeriLumenTM FT3 Rapid Test is a fluorescence immunochromatographic assay for the quantitative measurement of free triiodothyronine (FT3) in human whole blood, plasma, or serum samples. FT3 is the biologically active form of triiodothyronine and plays a key role in regulating metabolism, growth, and energy balance. Its concentration is widely used in the clinical assessment of thyroid function, particularly in the evaluation of thyroid hormone activity at the tissue level. The assay provides rapid quantitative results to support timely clinical evaluation in laboratory and point-of-care settings.

This test is mainly used in the clinical assessment of thyroid function, supporting evaluation of patients with suspected hypo- or hyperthyroidism. Quantitative FT3 measurement supports clinical decision-making when interpreted together with clinical findings and other thyroid function tests, helping to assess hormonal imbalance and treatment response.

Detection Method Quantitative fluorescence immunochromatography
Antibody Format Monoclonal / competitive
Signal Generation Fluorescence signal (fluorescent-labeled immunochromatography)
Reading Method Instrument-based
Mechanism The assay is based on a fluorescence immunochromatographic competitive principle, in which free triiodothyronine (FT3) present in the sample competes with immobilized FT3 analogs at the test region for binding to specific fluorescently labeled anti-FT3 antibodies during capillary migration along the membrane. As the FT3 concentration in the sample increases, fewer labeled antibodies bind at the test region, resulting in a fluorescence signal that is inversely proportional to the FT3 concentration in the specimen.
